THE RIGHT APPROACH FOR YOUR SITE

A considered clean for your solar array.

Dust, pollen and other surface deposits may prompt a panel-cleaning enquiry, but every array needs its own assessment. Tell us what you have noticed, where the panels are installed and whether you have the manufacturer’s care information. The cleaning discussion focuses on the panel surfaces and practical access. Electrical servicing, repairs and diagnosing system performance require the appropriate solar or electrical professional.

01 / THE CLEANING SCOPE

WHAT NEEDS
ATTENTION?

Start with the surfaces and areas you need cleaned. We confirm the suitable method and agreed scope for your site.

01

Residential rooftop arrays

For a home system, provide the address, approximate panel count and information about the roof layout. Existing photos taken from a safe position can help with the initial discussion. Roof height, panel location and access arrangements need to be assessed before a cleaning visit is confirmed.

02

Strata & shared-roof systems

For an apartment building or shared property, identify the person authorised to approve access and work. Include roof access rules, building procedures and any contractor documentation requirements. Panel cleaning can be considered alongside a broader strata maintenance plan, with its own scope and access arrangements.

03

Commercial solar arrays

A commercial array may span several roof sections or sit above an active workplace. Share the approximate system layout, the panel count if known and operating restrictions below or around it. Inductions, access approvals and scheduling need to be considered alongside the cleaning requirements.

04

Dust, pollen & surface build-up

Describe the deposits you can see and any previous cleaning or treatment. Our service discussion centres on a soft, purified-water approach suitable for the panels, subject to assessment and manufacturer guidance. Damaged panels or suspected system faults should be raised with your installer before cleaning is planned.

02 / PLAN THE WORK

A CLEAN THAT
FITS YOUR SITE.

Good preparation starts with a clear picture of the property, its surfaces and the way people use it.

Tell us about your site
  1. Have the care information ready

Panel make, model and manufacturer cleaning instructions are useful starting points. Share them if available, together with any warranty conditions or installer advice relevant to cleaning. If that information is missing, mention it when enquiring so the next steps can be discussed.

  2. Explain access without taking risks

Describe the roof from information you already have; there is no need to climb onto it to prepare an enquiry. Let us know about access points, existing site procedures and anything you believe may be damaged. Access suitability is considered before work is agreed.

  3. Agree what the visit covers

A cleaning quote should identify the array or sections included, access arrangements and any agreed photographs or reporting. Panel count, height, layout, condition and access can affect pricing. Electrical testing, fault diagnosis and repairs need a separate service from an appropriate solar or electrical professional.

03 / GOOD TO KNOW

YOUR QUESTIONS.
CLEAR ANSWERS.

More to discuss? Include your site details in an enquiry so we can work through the specifics.

Do you pressure wash solar panels?

The solar cleaning service is based on a soft, purified-water approach, assessed against panel condition and manufacturer guidance. It should not be assumed to use the same method as concrete or car park cleaning. Provide the panel care instructions when requesting a quote.

Will cleaning guarantee higher solar output?

No particular generation increase or energy saving is promised. If output has changed, discuss the issue with your solar retailer or installer rather than assuming dirt is the cause. A surface clean is a different scope from testing, fault diagnosis or electrical repairs.

How often do solar panels need cleaning?

A fixed cleaning interval is not suitable for every array. Local conditions, visible deposits and the system’s care requirements should guide the discussion. Check the system documentation and installer advice, then tell us about the condition you are seeing and the maintenance you have in mind.

Can you clean panels on a business or strata building?

Commercial and strata arrays can be assessed, as well as residential systems. Provide the location, array layout and roof access requirements. For shared buildings, the authorised building contact should confirm access and any approvals needed before a cleaning date is agreed.

What information is needed for a solar cleaning quote?

Send your address, panel count if known, roof height and layout, any existing photos and the manufacturer’s care information. Mention damaged panels or suspected faults and your preferred timing. Washdown serves Sydney and surrounds; availability and site suitability are confirmed during scoping.
