THE RIGHT APPROACH FOR YOUR SITE

A cleaner welcome, from the street to the front door.

An exterior clean starts with the building itself: the materials, existing coatings, height and condition. A painted wall needs a different assessment from exposed masonry or metal cladding. We discuss the areas you want cleaned, the finish you hope to achieve and any restrictions before preparing a quote. The aim is a clear scope that property owners, tenants and building managers can work around.

01 / THE CLEANING SCOPE

WHAT NEEDS
ATTENTION?

Start with the surfaces and areas you need cleaned. We confirm the suitable method and agreed scope for your site.

01

External walls & cladding

Include the elevations and materials that need attention, such as painted render, masonry or cladding. Tell us about flaking finishes, previous repairs and any manufacturer requirements. Surface condition helps determine whether pressure cleaning, a softer washing approach or a separately assessed treatment is suitable.

02

Awnings & shopfront surrounds

Street-facing areas collect everyday grime and can be difficult to reach during trading hours. Identify awnings, sign surrounds, entry canopies and adjacent surfaces in your enquiry. Height, electrical fittings, neighbouring shops and public access all need to be considered when agreeing the work.

03

Entries & approach paths

Plan the arrival area as a whole by including entrance paving, steps and the paths that connect to the building. Separate surface types and any existing sealers should be identified. We can discuss staging the clean so the access arrangements are clear before the visit.

04

Combined building packages

Where several external areas need cleaning, a combined scope can make the work easier to coordinate. List facades, common pathways, driveways and car park access together, then confirm which items belong in this visit and which should be considered for a later maintenance schedule.

02 / PLAN THE WORK

A CLEAN THAT
FITS YOUR SITE.

Good preparation starts with a clear picture of the property, its surfaces and the way people use it.

Tell us about your site
  1. Start with the surface condition

Share photos that show the overall building and closer views of areas of concern. Flag loose fittings, damaged joints, fragile coatings and poorly sealed windows. Cleaning can remove surface build-up, but it does not repair deteriorated finishes or guarantee that every stain will disappear.

  2. Plan access around the building

Tell us about the building height, available access, nearby parking and pedestrian routes. Let us know who approves the work and communicates with occupants. Early starts, evenings and staged cleaning can be discussed by arrangement, subject to the site and agreed schedule.

  3. Make the quote specific

Useful details include the address, approximate area, elevations to be cleaned, water access and preferred timing. Height, surface condition, access equipment and additional treatments can affect the quote. A site walk may be needed to confirm the method and practical limits of the work.

03 / GOOD TO KNOW

YOUR QUESTIONS.
CLEAR ANSWERS.

More to discuss? Include your site details in an enquiry so we can work through the specifics.

Do you use high pressure on every facade?

No. The cleaning approach is assessed against the material, coating and condition of the building. High pressure is not automatically appropriate for every exterior. Share any product care information and known defects so these can be considered before the scope is agreed.

Can the building stay occupied during cleaning?

Occupancy and access requirements are discussed when planning the job. Tell us which entrances must remain available, the busiest periods and any sensitive neighbouring areas. The quote and schedule should set out the agreed staging; uninterrupted access cannot be assumed for every area.

Can facade cleaning be combined with common-area cleaning?

Yes, we can discuss a combined scope for external walls, entries, paths and other shared surfaces. Identify the whole property’s requirements at the enquiry stage so the quote can distinguish each area, its cleaning needs and any separate access arrangements.

How often should a commercial building be washed?

There is no single interval for every building. Exposure, surface condition, presentation requirements and the amount of build-up all matter. Start with the current condition and your maintenance priorities; one-off work or a recurring schedule can then be discussed for your property.

Where do you provide building and facade cleaning?

Washdown serves Sydney and surrounds, within approximately 250 km of Sydney. Send the property address, building details and preferred timing so we can confirm availability and assess the job. An enquiry starts the scoping process and does not confirm a booking.
